The Highlander Halo Smock is a lightweight tactical smock designed to provide outstanding protection from the wind, cold and light rain without the bulk of a traditional waterproof jacket. Constructed from a 210T 100% nylon ripstop outer shell with a high-grade DWR (Durable Water Repellent) coating, the Highlander Halo Smock offers excellent resistance to wind and light rain while remaining exceptionally lightweight. The durable ripstop fabric helps resist tears and abrasion, making it well suited to field exercises, hiking and everyday outdoor use. Waterproof YKK® zips further improve weather protection, helping to keep the elements at bay in changeable conditions.
Inside, a warm microfleece lining provides excellent insulation without adding excessive weight, making the Halo an ideal outer layer throughout much of the year. The high collar and concealable peaked hood with drawcord adjustment offer additional protection against wind and rain, while underarm ventilation zips allow excess body heat to escape during periods of high activity, helping you stay comfortable on the move.
Designed with practicality in mind, the Halo features a large front chest pocket with storm flap that's ideal for storing maps, gloves or other essential equipment, while fleece-lined side pockets with waterproof zips provide a warm place to keep your hands and secure storage for valuables. Hook and loop adjustable cuffs help seal out the weather and allow you to tailor the fit whether worn over gloves or as part of a layered clothing system. The Olive version is also fully compatible with UK MoD issue equipment, making it an excellent choice for military and cadet use.
