French Army Winter Suit Prototype (JR271)
A very exciting, potentially one-of-a-kind complete military uniform which was assembled as a prototype for the consideration of the French Armed Forces Ministry. Acquired directly from the French government's official military disposals agent, and came to us as part of a larger collection of military uniform and equipment prototypes.
We believe this was made around the 1990s to 2010s period by an official military clothing contractor for the French Army (possibly Paul Boyé Technologies, or F.E.C.S.A.) and displayed in a presentation for the French Armed Forces Ministry to propose the adoption of a new winter camouflage pattern.
This collection comprises of combat trousers; combat shirt; and combat jacket with removable pile liner. Each item is in perfect unworn and undamaged condition with no signs of use-related wear. Each garment is very similar in cut and style to the French Airbourne forces uniform of the time. The camouflage is clearly inspired by the 'Daguet' Desert pattern but with paler colours and smaller brown elements. Each garment has a blank, unprinted label in the normal location for a size/contract label. On these labels the word 'winter' is written by hand.
