Genuine East German Army winter-issue field canteen set including straps; metal mug; and insulated plastic water bottle.

Manufactured around the 1970 to 1980 period for the armed forces of East Germany (NVA). These insulated canteens were issued specifically for use in Extreme Cold Weather environments as an alternative to the standard issue NVA canteens. All canteen sets are in good used condition with signs of light wear typical of used military equipment. Straps, cups, and bottles may have scuffs and scrapes. Metal parts, such as the cup, and strap buckles, may have chipped paintwork and signs of rust. Canteen sets may be dusty as a result of long-term storage and need a good clean before use.

The insulated flask is constructed of a hard plastic inner, to which has been applied an outer layer of soft plastic foam.
