Vintage Governor Sleeping Bag Case
Weather-resistant sleeping bag case designed for wild camping and bushcraft. We believe that these sleeping bag cases were manufactured in France around the 1980s - all of the cases we are selling here were acquired from a British Army training centre in the North of England and have been used by British Armed Forces personnel on training excercises.
Unlike modern Bivvy / Bivi bags which are constructed entirely of Goretex or Permeable Membrane fabric - These traditional sleeping bag cases are partly constructed of a sealed (non-breathable) waterproof fabric on the base and covering the feet. The top of the case is constructed of windproof cotton fabric which allows moisture to evaporate from inside the bag; keeping the user warm and dry.
This item is in used ex-issue condition with signs of wear typical of used military field equipment. Bags may have fading and staining on the outer fabric and may have small holes or patches of worn fabric which require small repairs. The Bivvy bags may require re-proofing with a suitable waterproofing treatment in order to fully restore its waterproof properties. Due to the surplus nature of the item, there may be some colour variation between items.
