DESCRIPTION

1950s RAF Airman Uniform Shirts + Collars (GH06)

A collection of three genuine Royal Air Force issue cotton dress shirts, with seven detachable collars. Manufactured by famous London shirtmakers 'Welch Margetson' circa 1953 and all attributed to the same serviceman. Please note that while the detachable collars are appropriate for use with these collarless shirts, no fastening studs are included with the lot to attach them.

Condition:

All items are in used condition with signs of wear typical of used military clothing. Due to the age of these items (over 70 years old) there is some discolouration and creasing evident in the fabric which may or may not disappear with careful cleaning. There are a small number of areas with broken sitching as shown on the listing photographs. There is evidence of contemporary repairs and stitching on some parts of the shirts which adds to the character and historicity of the items.

These shirts were made to fit an individual with 36" Chest Circumference; 5'8" Tall. (Imperial Size 7)

Chest Circumference = Approx 40" (20" Armpit to Armpit)

Armpit to Cuff = 20"
