1951 RAF Knitted Pullover (GH02)

Incredibly scarce, genuine Royal Air Force issue knitted jumper. Manufactured in 1951 by C.K.Co. Ltd. of the Isle of Wight. Due to the fragile nature of knitwear and the typical wear-and-tear of military use, very few items like this have survived to present day, and most originals of this period are housed in museum collections. This example is very well preserved and would be a valuable resource to students of historical fashion and 20th century knitwear.

Labelled Imperial 'Size 1' Designed to fit approximately 34" to 36" Chest Circumference.

Condition:

This item is in generally good used condition with signs of wear typical of used military clothing. There are a small handfull of minor snags in the knitted fabric but no holes or evidence of unravelling. No moth or insect damage, no pilling, and no fading. We believe this has had very little use and has spent the majority of the past 73 years stored in an attic!
