      DESCRIPTION

Genuine Officer's Pattern greatcoat dated to 1936-1941 with a mixture of original Royal Artillery Buttons and modern replacements.

This item can be dated by the rare tailor's label from Hawkes & Co. of Savile Row - the label references their royal warrant 'by appointment to the late King George V' - this label was used by warrant holders exclusively between the years 1936 to 1941.

This coat is in good condition for its age with signs of light wear as a result of general use. The coat has some very small holes and evidence of light insect damage shown in photographs.

This coat has been acquired from a theatre company's costume department and has been subjected to small repairs and reinforcements through the years. Many of the buttons on this coat are not the original Royal Artillery buttons but later replacements using assorted military-style buttons.

      Actual sizes of the garment:

Armpit to Wrist measurement = 17"
